Free QR Code Generator

Pick what the code should do, fill in the fields, and download a PNG or SVG. The code is static: it never expires, needs no account and does not track who scans it.

Static vs dynamic QR codes

A static QR code stores the link or text inside the pattern itself. It works forever, with no account and no company in the middle. Many "free" QR sites make dynamic codes instead: the code points to their short link, which forwards to yours. Those can be switched off later unless you pay, and they log every scan. This generator makes static codes only.

The trade-off: you cannot change a static code after printing. If the address may change, print a link to a page you control (like your own site) and update that page instead.

Wi-Fi QR codes

A Wi-Fi code uses the format phones understand (WIFI:T:WPA;S:name;P:password;;). Guests point the camera at it and join without typing the password. Use the exact network name, including capital letters and spaces.

Tips for printing

  • Keep strong contrast: dark code on a light background. Light-on-dark codes fail on many older scanners.
  • Print at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 inch) for close scanning, bigger for posters: roughly 1 cm of code per 10 cm of scanning distance.
  • Use the SVG download for print: it stays sharp at any size.
  • Choose "High" error correction if the code may get scratched or you plan to place a small logo over the middle.
  • Always test with two different phones before printing a batch.

FAQ

Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static: the content is inside the code, so it works as long as the link itself works.
Is this QR code generator really free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark, no scan limit. PNG and SVG downloads are free.
Can I make a QR code for Wi-Fi?
Yes. Choose "Wi-Fi network", type the network name and password, and download. Phones join the network when they scan it.
Can I track how many people scanned it?
Not with a static code. Add UTM tags to your link (for example ?utm_source=flyer) and count visits in your analytics instead.
