How to convert JPG to PDF

    1. Click "Choose images" or drag the photos onto the box. You can add more later, from different folders.
    2. Put them in order with ↑ and ↓. Image 1 becomes page 1.
    3. Pick the page size. A4 is the standard in Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, Pakistan, India, the UK and Europe; US Letter is used in the United States and Canada. "Same as the image" makes each page exactly the size of its photo.
    4. Press "Convert" and download the PDF.

    Is the quality reduced?

No, for JPG and PNG files. A JPEG is stored in the PDF exactly as it is, byte for byte, so there is no second compression and no loss. A PNG is also stored without loss. The PDF is therefore about the same size as your images added together. If the result is too big to email, run it through the PDF compressor or shrink the photos first with the image compressor.

WebP, GIF and BMP images, and phone photos that are stored sideways with a rotation flag, are redrawn once as a high-quality JPEG so every PDF reader shows them correctly.

Why phone photos sometimes come out sideways (and why they don't here)

A phone camera usually saves the picture in the sensor's orientation and adds an EXIF "rotate 90°" note instead of turning the pixels. Photo apps read the note; many PDF converters ignore it, so the page comes out on its side. This tool reads the note and turns the image before it goes into the PDF, so what you see in the list is what you get.

    Page size, orientation and margins

    UseSettings that work
Scanned documents, ID cards, receipts for an office or a visa formA4 (or Letter in the US), automatic orientation, small margin
Photos to share or print as a bookletA4, automatic orientation, no margin
Screenshots or a design you want at full sizeSame as the image, no margin

The image is always scaled to fit inside the margins without stretching and is centred on the page. With automatic orientation a wide photo gets a landscape page and a tall one a portrait page, so nothing is shrunk more than it has to be.

    iPhone HEIC photos

Most browsers on Windows and Android cannot open HEIC files, so they show an error in the list. On the iPhone, share the photos and choose "Save to Files" as JPEG, or set Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible so new photos are saved as JPG. Safari on a Mac or iPhone can usually open HEIC directly.

    Privacy

The conversion uses pdf-lib, an open-source JavaScript library that runs inside your browser. Your images are not sent to HeadsNTail or anyone else; you can switch off the internet after the page has loaded and it still works. We only count that a conversion happened (the file type and the number of images), never the file names or the pictures.

    FAQ

Is this JPG to PDF converter free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark and no limit on the number of images.
Can I put several JPG files into one PDF?
Yes. Add all the images, set the order with ↑ and ↓, and they become the pages of one PDF in that order.
Does converting to PDF reduce the image quality?
No for JPG and PNG: they are placed in the PDF unchanged. Other formats and rotated phone photos are redrawn once as a 92% quality JPEG.
Can I convert PNG or screenshots to PDF?
Yes. PNG, WebP, GIF and BMP work the same way. Choose "Same as the image" as the page size to keep a screenshot at its full size.
    Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser; the files never leave your device.
