How to convert a PDF to JPG

  1. Choose the PDF or drop it on the box. The number of pages appears straight away.
  2. Pick JPG or PNG and the sharpness. Leave "Pages" empty for every page, or type a range such as 1-3, 5.
  3. Press "Convert to images". Download a single page, or all of them in one ZIP file.

JPG or PNG?

JPG files are much smaller and are the right choice for scanned pages, photos and anything you send on WhatsApp or by email. PNG keeps text and thin lines perfectly sharp with no blur around the letters, which is better for a page of text you will zoom into, a chart or a screenshot for documentation, but the file can be five to ten times bigger. Both use a white background, because a PDF page is white paper even when the file itself says nothing about the background.

Which dpi should I choose?

SharpnessA4 page becomesGood for
72 dpi595 × 842 pxThumbnails, a quick preview
150 dpi1240 × 1754 pxPhone screens, WhatsApp, email, websites
200 dpi1654 × 2339 pxPrinting text that must be easy to read
300 dpi2480 × 3508 pxPrint shops, small print, signatures

Very large pages (posters, engineering drawings) are limited to about 24 megapixels per image so the browser does not run out of memory; the tool lowers the dpi for those pages automatically.

Extracting only some pages

Type the pages you need in the "Pages" box: 2 for one page, 1-4 for a range, 1, 3, 7-9 for a mix, or 5- for page 5 to the end. If you need those pages as a smaller PDF rather than images, use Split PDF instead.

Password-protected and damaged PDFs

A PDF that asks for a password when you open it cannot be converted until it is unlocked: open it in your PDF reader with the password and print or save it as a new PDF. A PDF that only restricts printing or copying usually converts normally. If a file is damaged, opening and re-saving it in a PDF reader often repairs it.

Privacy

Pages are drawn by pdf.js, the PDF engine from Mozilla Firefox, running inside your browser. The PDF and the images stay on your device. We count only that a PDF was converted and roughly how many pages it had, never the file name or the content.

FAQ

How do I save one page of a PDF as a JPG?
Open the PDF here, type the page number in "Pages" (for example 3), choose JPG and press Convert. You get one image to download.
Can I convert all PDF pages to JPG at once?
Yes. Leave "Pages" empty; every page becomes an image and you can download them together as a ZIP file.
What resolution should I use for printing?
200 dpi is clear for normal text; use 300 dpi for small print, signatures or a professional print shop.
Is there a watermark or a page limit?
No watermark and no fixed limit. Very long PDFs simply take longer, because each page is drawn on your device.
Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs in your browser and the file never leaves your device.
